Chandan Mahimkar is an alumnus of Sir J.J. Institute of Applied Arts, with a B.F.A. degree from the Mumbai University. After spending over two decades working for some of the leading advertising, design and digital agencies in India to create and grow some of the most iconic brands, Chandan has moved into the next chapter to focus on his passion for branding, typography, lettering, space design and teaching.

​Earlier serving as a Chief Creative Officer of L&K Saatchi & Saatchi India, Chandan was also the chief designer and founder of its design division. This specialist unit helped some of their biggest clients like ITC Personal Care, Hero Group, RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group, Godrej Interio, Bombay Dyeing, Kent RO, Lotus Herbals and Reliance Wellness. He has created some of the most noted identities for Hungama.com, RP-SG Group, Saregama Music, GVK SkyCity and Sterling Holidays to name a few.

His love for branding & space design has helped him design some of the most raved bars and restaurants in Mumbai and Pune like WTF!, The Tanjore Tiffin Room, The Sassy Spoon, Bombay Taco Co., The Big Nasty, The Fuchsia Loft, House of Mandarin, Nude Food Café and The Druid Garden (Bengaluru).

Chandan's lettering work has been consistently published in some of the most reputed books in US and Australia. His work has also been featured by I amsterdam, Passion Passport, Paris Je T'aime, Project Van Life, Design Sponge, Goodtype, Design Milk, AIGA and The Washington Post.

Chandan is a faculty at Ecole Intuit Lab and an instructor at Miami Ad School in Mumbai where he teaches typography & editorial design, mentoring young design students.
